I have a problem whit the lcd on my laptop, there is a black thin vertical, close to the middle. i manage to fix it a few times applying pressure a bit of pressure a the bottom of the lcd (in the sameplace where the black line start), and it worked, but seems like this ¨trick¨ is not working anymore, any idea what can be the problem? the LCD, or the cable? or both?

An LCD screen is a matrix, and they can develop dead rows just like they sometimes have dead pixels.

You would see more random distortion on the screen if it was the cable. You can rule it out by flexing the cable itself after taking the LCD bezel off. But it's already pretty obvious that it's the LCD itself.
