Hello everyone, i have 2 problems. the first is that whenever i plug my headphone into the headphone jack, my asus g73jh doesn't seem to recognize it as headphones. in the realtek audio-manager their just used as "speakers" but they work fine. the second problem is that the sound quality of the laptop is somehow different then my desktop, both have win 7,desktop 32,laptop 64bit, so i thought by removing all the creative software and updating the realtek audio drivers, the equalizer would come back but it doesn't. can you actually bring back the equalizer or do you have to use the creative software, because on my desktop i have the equalizer in the realtek audio-manager...

Check out this thread: Latest Realtek HD audio driver for G74SX with Equalizer

Did you confirm the Creative THX TruStudio files are completely removed?

Have you rebooted since Realtek 2.66 installation?

Aaaah - speakers. headphones - they're all speakers. As long as the built-in laptop speakers are disabled when ya plug in, there's no problemo...

i'll check the thread out thx.
yes no traces of creative software neither in programms folder or registry.
jup rebooted after uninstalling the old one and rebooted again after installing 2.66

well yeah the thing with the headphones is just annoing me but not a big problem

edit: uninstalling the creative audiocenter, which somehow slipped... made it. i have now the equalizer and the sound quality is the same as my desktops thanks :)

Good thing you did not try that with a G73SW as I found without being able to use THX Trustudio the base audio output is horrific.
I am curious if the above Realtek HD audio Driver will work with the G73SW-BST6. I was very impressed with the sound Effects, EQ and being able to remove vocals and change pitch with the Realtek HD audio Driver I had but now without being able to use THX Trustudio and using SRS Sandbox those functions no longer function I have noticed.
