    Problem with Steam and G73Jh

    It keeps freezing my computer as soon as i open it. There is a update bar and after 99% the system just freezes. Keyboard and mouse do not respond and only thing that helps is a hard restart.

    You could try to delete the ClientRegistry.blob file, it may be corrupted.

    If that doesn't work, try the "Repair" option on the installer for Steam.

    Worse case scenario, you may have to uninstall - re-install Steam, but this will remove all your games if you uninstall.

    I just installed steam :confused: wanted to play steam games again so installed it ....right after install it starts to update and then crash. Nop no error just freezes the system.

    Had the same problem. Chastity beat me to the solution. That fixed it for me way back when I first got the G73.

    I too had a similar issue, eventually I have to forward ports on my DSL router https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711

    It was the realtek audio bug....strange is i had the realtek driver on after i did a fresh install of windows. I downloaded the Realtek HD driver and that did the trick.
