So far i've had the chance to play:

    prototype
    spiderman shattered dimensions
    just cause 2
    assassins creed brotherhood

each has it's own problem/s i don't know if it's the ati driver, the directx, or the graphics card itself.

my bios and vbios is good. and i'm using ccc 11.4
directx says it's up to date.
    the gpu is a 5870.
    (just so you know)

prototype (pixelized quality when in movie scene)
spiderman shattered dimensions (pixelized quality when in movie scene)
just cause 2 (superb quality in movie scene. but shadows are super grainy)
assassins creed brotherhood (lower half i can see clearly. upper half only the silhouette of the character and floating eyeballs)

    any thoughts?

Update: downgraded to 11.2, now working smoothly! although there are some parts where it lags a little. particularly in movie scenes.

Installing AC:Brotherhood now, ironically on a win7 pro G73jh seeing as my
normal win7 install lost sound (AC:B related, or win7 oddity...dunno).

I'll report back in a mo'.

The scenes are supposed to be grainy. It's "by design"

how do you take off the graininess without steam? :p

    figured it out!

make a "dropzone" folder inside the installation folder of J.C 2,
then you put inside a mod for no more film grain. :D

    done with this one!

    on with the rest :p

the movie scenes in Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions look square-ish, like a low quality vid. is this on settings too or "by design"? :p
