I just recieved my new G53J and am having two problems. I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on them.
    1. I'm trying to change the operation when I close my lid and when I open Power4Gear and go into advanced, then set it to do nothing so I can play videos on my HDMI screen while having my lid closed. It saves until I close the power4gear console, then reverts back to hybernate. Any suggestions?
    2. I get an update notice that my windows live has an update. I chose to do the update and it fails saying I have another flavor of windows live loaded. This is a new machine that hasn't been modified.

    Thanks

    dont know about 1)
but 2) seems like its happening to a lot of people. I had the same problem, but if you are using windows live 2009, I would stick to that. 2011 isn't as good as it seems anyway. I had the same errors saying I have another flavor, even tried uninstalling windows live first and then installing the new version manually and it didn't work for some reason.

Looked at Windows Live Mail and it's 2009. Don't know anything more about windows live than that. I assume this means I have the 2009 version. You'd sure think it would upgrade it automatically wouldn't you? I'm guessing Microsoft calls this a feature, not a bug.... HA..

Just stick with 2009 then, no point upgrading. If you use Windows live messenger a lot like i do, definitely stick with 2009. The 2011 version is full of bloatware and crap you don't need.
