I just got Everest and im mainly using it for monitoring CPU & GPU temps. Well im configuring it right now and ive set it to show CPU, Core 1 through 4, GPU dispIO, GPU MemIo, GPU Shader.

Well previously i used core temp which only monitored CPU Core 1-4. It didnt include CPU.
Also previously I used GPU-Z which monitored GPU temps..but it only gave one value, not 3.

SO basically, what is the difference between CPU temp and CPU core temps? Also, which sensor should I be using for GPU temps since there are 3?

The temp on the GPU to be looking at would be the MemIO. That is usually the highest.

I would recomend that you get HWinFO32 for monitoring your temps as it will allow you to check all sensors on both CPU and GPU as well as your fan speeds. It will also let you keep a log.

Is HWinFO32 better than everest in any way?

    everest have everything you want
all 4 temperatures on the CPU
all 3 temperatures on the GPU

the only thing maybe you won't like is that it refreshes the temperatures on every 3 seconds :)

you can put the OSD sensors on the right corner and monitor
    that's what i do

and yes you can configure it to show you the temperature on every 1 second

It's free, and will display the info you need, including all the temps.

I have found that the Everest software to not be worth the time. Go read their buglist sometime.

for me Everest has helped me a lot ... find the name of some unknown hardware
and preciselly described every part of the machine
but mostly i use it for monitoring
no bugs for me... i've been using it for 5 years
