    Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my G60JX i5-430m to an i7-720qm, but looking at pictures of these CPU's I've noticed that they are somewhat different.
Where the i5 has two small chips, the i7 has one big chip.

So my question is, are there any people here that did this upgrade too?
And, did they had to buy a new heatsink or is it possible to modify the old one? I'll hope someone can help me out. Thank you in advance.

The second chip on the i5 is the IGP which your laptop doesn't use so you can upgrade away if you want to.

    Hi 0n1s4c and tijo,

Thanks for your answers. I'll give it a try and see if the heatsink will fit.
