I'm thinking about connecting my notebook to a KVM switch with my desktop. So far I haven't found a KVM switch that will take an HDMI input along with a VGA input that has an HDMI output, therefore, I am thinking I will have to use the G73's VGA port to connect to the KVM switch. If I do that, would it be a waste of money to get a high definition monitor (1920X1080) to use with it and the VGA desktop? Let me know if that doesn't make sense.Basically I want to have the full screen of the G73 (but larger) maybe a 24" monitor.
Has anyone ever tried to connect a larger wide screen monitor to their G73 through the VGA port? Do you get good results?

Billyray, great question. I want to do something similar eventually. I have hooked up mine to my 720i Tv with the VGA port and the output to TV was excellent (not 1080i of course). It filled the screen; no black bars and the sound from the G73 is far superior to my TV. Nice avatar.

VGA maxes out at 2048x1536/60 I believe.
You should be able to drive a 1920x1080 display through your KVM over VGA, just not at 120hz (if your monitor can even handle it)
Of course, you could also just grab a usb/hdmi kvm:
CubiQ HDMI KVMP Switches - KVMGalore® - Your KVM Switch Superstore -
I can test that later when I get home on a 24" Dell 1080p S2409W.
