    I picked up the following spec last night in pristine condition for 550 quid.

    Asus G73JH
    1.6ghz I7 720qm
    6GB 1333mhz Ram
    ATI 5870
    500GB 7200RPM
    Windows 7 Professional

    Im looking to up the RAM to 8GB as its cheap and also add another 500GB HDD however when I checked the bay the HDD does not fit in the casing? Is the secondary HDD chassy a different size to the primary?

    I also have an issue with the touchpad but I see this is a common problem with this model and I have tried changing all settings and now mine is only affected when I play games for some reason so I can just use my Razor Copperhead although a bit annoying the buttons are not really made for gaming as they are not split like the JW

    My ATI card idles at a smart 46oc and reaches a max of 88oc at full pelt before the fans drop it back down to 80. I was told the Vbios was updated does this sound about right for this model?

    My G73JH is running at 50C today, are you positive your HD is a 7300 mine is a 5400. I hope ASUSs live updater is working on your system, mine quit. You can look for updates on ASUSs support site.

    Yes its a 7200RPM as its not the UK BST version its from US.

    Can anyone answer the question about the HDD? The sata is the right one it just appears the caddy case for the primary is a different size to the secondary connection and there is no caddy included for the secondary and I dont want to have the hdd rattling about inside insecure.

    I have read of touch pad problems, I have a wireless keyboard and mouse so don't use the touch pad. I have had my system just lock up having me to remove battery to get it shut down and rebooted.
    I have turned off all the power saving items and so far it's not quit again.
