Hi!I tried searching for a thread where similar questions were asked, but couldn't find anything so I made a new thread.

I'm considering to buy an Asus G73jh, which seems to be the notebook with most bang for the buck. Unfortunately, I'm unsure which version to get. Either the one with Intel Core i5 450M, 4GB of RAM and a 1600x900 screen or the one with Intel Core i7 720QM, 6GB RAM and a 1920x1080 screen. Is the latter vastly superior, or should I save the extra money?

And a different question: Will the warranty void if I change the DVD-drive to a Blu-Ray?

i suggest the i7 quad +6GB + full HD screen version.. u'd use the laptop to full potential.. replacing the drive should be ok but make sure u don't damage anything or warranty will be voided.

Straight answer would be- the i7 as the other guys pointed out.

And trust me, the 1980x1080 makes a huge difference if you are keen on getting a good viewing experience be it watching movies, graphics design, gaming etc.
On the warranty front, as far as i know, warranty is affected only if you fiddle around with the CPU. You should be safe in replacing the DVD drive with a Blue Ray. While you are at it, get an Intel n-6200 wireless card and an SSD as well if your budget permits it. You wont regret it. :)

It's not so much about the resolution of 1920x1080, it's that the HannStar LED display (1920x1080) is one of the nicest displays you can find in a laptop. It makes me sad using my external just because it's bigger because it's that nice.

Thanks guys, I'll go for the more expensive version. $2400 is pricy, but I'll look at it as an investment for both entertainment and studies.
