1. If I decide to do a regular win 7 install, will my laptop still fully function?
Or do i need to do the asus recovery install?
2. If I decide to do a regular install, can I then install company made drivers for my hardware? (ex. go to ATI for a gfx card update instead of asus)

Hi @kefka - If you choose to perform a clean Windows 7 install, your laptop will still fully function. In fact, most will confirm it'll function better than than with the ASUS Factory Windows + Bloatware. You will want to install the ASUS ATK Package to your clean Win 7 OS to allow the function keys to work.
Whether clean Win 7 OS or ASUS Factory OS, you ALWAYS have the option to install drivers directly from the developer rather than ASUS "certified" drivers. ASUS only Q/A tests the drivers from the developer to confirm they are less likely to cause problems on ASUS computers. They don't change the driver code. The drivers ASUS "certifies" have passed the Q/A testing - that's the only difference. -
Awesome, thanks a lot. Now...how do i get a windows 7 install disc??

Here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-digitalriver-windows-7-sp1-13-languages.html, you'll need to activate it using the product key on the bottom of your laptop. Make sure to dl the right version.
