I had my previous 1333mHz 8gb (4gbX2) RAM. so when at light night i was watching a video regarding how to insert secondary hard drive, i thought why not to try to increase RAM. once i have inserted and ran WEI my point came down from 7.6 to 7.4. i know Windows Experience Index is not the proper thing to judge the laptop's performance, so i ran 3d mark06 as well, and found that the score came down to 13821 from 14200. guys, whoever having 12gb of RAM can you please tell me what is your WEI Point for RAM and how many RAM slots are there in the machine?

You try to add ram from 8 to 12 ?

Probably your ram is now not anymore in Dual channel ?

BTW , you should try to do the test again. 3Dmark result can vary from 100-300 on a same test at the same moment.

i agree.. what about WEI test. i have done it couple of times. and every time i got 7.4, once i took that ram out my WEI score jumped back to 7.6. by the way, i have inserted that ram underneath of the keyboard slot. i don't know how many ram slot i have got in the machine.

To my knowledge, each slot under the bottom hatch is matched with one under the keyboard, so dual channel might not function properly when you install two new modules under the bottom hatch.

Yep. Your RAM needs to be matched in slots 1&3 and/or 2&4 for dual-channel to work.
