Damn. I wish when I bought mine (while it was still new!) I had this option. I'd have paid half as much and popped in a FHD screen myself.

If coupled with an extended warranty, this is a great deal.

Looks like it will end up being about $924 with sales tax if I get it but there is still no warranty option available on the website. Will they let me get a warranty upgrade in-store?

I didn't buy it, but if your willing to give them your money I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get it. Still you are not really gonna beat the deal

The way I look at it, its refurbished so they generally fixed the issues that had shown up. If they don't show in the first 90 days, you should be ok.

Well unlike a brand new one a refurbished one was actually tested.

In a few ways its superior.

I received mine from the UPS man last night. In the box was just the laptop and power cord. Nothing else- no disks or manuals. It came with the 209 bios on it. Today I updated the vbios. I uninstalled a ton of bloatware and am undecided if I want to do a clean install of win7, upgrade to pro or ultimate or just leave it as is. But so far so good! For the price, this could be a contender for deal of the year.

So by that logic, it is always better to buy a refurb unit vs a brand new eh lol
