I've been 9 days without my laptop now since shipping it off. It's been sitting at 0.0% in the Indiana facility. Has anyone RMA'd before with good results? All I see is the horror stories of 3 month waits. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen to me. My issue was relatively minor too.

Mine was minor too and it came back in pretty nasty shape, and took over a month.
-
I'm hoping for the best. Mine arrived last Monday, and they started working on Wednesday.
I will be pissed if it takes a month seeing as I had the computer for only 6 days before I sent it off. I did take a quick 720p video of the condition of it before it left. If it comes back in bad shape I'll be making a call to a supervisor.
Best of luck for the two of us. -
Average wait time is around 25 days. Sorry, I made my mistake with Asus this time
-
Let's hope you are wrong. I won't be able to return the computer if it takes that long. Not sure I would want to, but I really didn't have much of an opportunity to use the computer before I started having issues. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I made a mistake, but I'll wait to see what the results are after the RMA.
I'm still optimistic. -

My RMA took 12 days, everything was fine, BUT I sent it to California. -
Mine took 7 days and mine also went to California. Came back in perfect condition.
-
7 days as in 7 days at the repair facility or 7 days away from you?
-
Are the technicians at the Indiana facility adept at fixing these laptops? Any personal experience?
-
Yes 7 days, Asus overnighted mine and then sent it back overnight. They made sure gfx card was good, then repasted it and replaced gpu heatsink.
-
I think we hear more about the bad stories, than the good ones. Like I said, I'm extremely optimistic of the result.
I'm sure we are just worrying for nothing. If not, we can always call and complain. I think ASUS is standing behind their product pretty well with our warranty. -
I had a great experience. They took care of me.
-
Thanks guys. I hope mine doesn't sit at 0.0% for eternity :/
-
I've used the Indiana facility twice now. Took about two weeks to replace the GPU on my G51vx, and about 8 days to replace a screen on and EEE PC. Those times include shipping both ways. The status on the web page is useless, it does not get updated often.

Thanks KimoT

I have to RMA mine since it got bricked.
I have the best buy model but didn't buy their warranty.
Can best buy still help me out even though I dont have their warranty? -
Yes, but honestly you may just want to go through asus. If best buy fixes it they will pay for shipping, but they may repair it themselves, do you really want a guy who doesn't specialize in any particular computer working o. Your laptop. If you send it to asus yourself, then the people doing the work will be familiar with the computer and know what they are doing. Just mho.
-
I'll just go to best buy and see if they can send it to ASUS for me. I remember someone saying on this forum that that happened.
