    [IMG] Hi!
I have bought second hand ASUS G73-jw. I think it is 1A version but that is not important at the moment. I have bought it with windows 10 already so a lot of things could have happen to it before. Anyway I reinstalled the system coz it was in swedish language. Than I have realised that I'm facing game stuttering. At first I thought it's caused by the fact I was playing TES Morrowind with graphic overhaul and stuff, but it happened also in League of Legends (non demanding game).

I reversed everything and I have installed windows 7 profesional. Downloaded all the newest drivers (with help of driver booster). I have basically tried EVERYTHING that I thought could help but I'm still facing this problem. I have disabled windows services like "windows search" "defrag" and everything that could slow my HDD down. Without progress. I suspect that SSD part of the disk has something to do with it or the disk is just broken but I can not prove it. I have done "zeroing" before installing fresh windows 7 with DBAN too. I have scanned it with HD Tune for bad sectors and everything seems fine. Before I throw this piece of garbage out, I want to be sure I have tried everything.

Does anyone here have any ideas what can I do?

When stuttering occurs, i see HD Icon blinking and flashing constantly for few seconds. I would like to try upgrading firmware from sd22 to sd26 but I can not find it ANYWHERE on the internet :(
If there is anyone who has it, or who can look for it over the internet please let me know. I have checked only polish and english sites. I have even asked Seagate to help me but they refused.
The only available firmware is sd28 but I have heared its garbage so I dont want to mess things up even more.

In the other thread I have read something about additional drivers required to use SSD (and my momentus XT) I can'f find this thread but I remember it had something to do with "intel rapid storage"? Might it be a problem? If yes than which drivers exactly should I try updating?

I'm sorry for my english and I hope someone can help me out with it so I could fully enjoy ROG gaming.

    best regards

EDIT: Even when I'm doing literally nothing I observe HDD icon blinking and HDD usage spikes like theese at the SS. Only system and resource monitor active...
I'm sorry for the mess with IMG links :X I did not know how to use them properly, and I cannot delete the wrong ones..

You could try installing Intel's Rapid Storage drivers. I'm not sure which version supports the chipset in that notebook though. You'll have to investigate that. And I don't know if this will actually improve anything.

The best way to go is to replace that Momentus XT with a newer SSHD. Those drives had problems. Stuttering in games with HDDs can be caused by glitchy, overly frequent head parking behavior that causes a delay in data access.
