My Asus G51J came with 2x320gig 7200rpm drives. If i remember correctly it does not have an raid array. Is there any way to make it raid 0?

The chipset does not support RAID.

What about a software raid? or is there a way to upgrade it? -

I've moved to the G73 now but I miss the G51. Hope yours is holding up! I'm sure it is...
I'm not sure you can do that to the system volume. Since I don't use windows I can't tell you for sure.. there's a guide here: How To Create Software Raid In Windows 7 -

Wow, that's crazy. Make sure to see Forge's old thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/414147-grab-copper-drill-now.html
There's nothing you can do about the chipset really, it has no RAID on the intel ICH controller, you'd need a system that has the ICH -R variant that supports RAID.
Honestly you could just throw an SSD in it and be done with it. -
In addition to the chipset the BIOS must also support RAID.

The BIOS would need to have an option to enable it, but then it just hands off to the option ROM for the ICH controller. You can always add an eSATA RAID expresscard if you want to run RAID on external drives, and they all pretty much support booting, without any need for explicit BIOS support.

EDIT: i also didn't have the razor mouse crap installed....it was free of those crappy software but thx for the reminder ^^
also i refuse to buy SSD...they are not reiable and die to fast. I will only buy a SLC one and those are liek 600 bucks so forget that ^^

I dunno... my X25-M G2 SSD has lived through 3 systems and it's in my G73 now. They're getting really cheap, and by the time the 3rd gen Intel and new Sandforce stuff comes out it'll be even cheaper. The only reason I can see to do RAID is if you have existing drives and want to squeeze out the very last ounce of performance. That's just my take tho...

i don't have on me extra drives...though if i could get my hands on the 2 500 gigs back at home that would be cool...they are like 4 years old but they were really high end back than
