Hey guys, I have been looking to get another 2/4gb stick for my G73Jh-RBBX05. The whole time I've had it, I thought it was 1333 ram, but after checking my HWINFO, its 1066. I know its not a huge deal, but I was a little upset. Also, the ram manufacturer is Hynix/Hyundai, and I cant find it anywhere to at least try and match the set, to get best performance.

So I guess my questions are, what type of ram should I buy, is that the normal ram that comes in it, and should I upgrade all 3 sticks to maybe 2x4gb?

The brand doesn't matter as long as you get a stick with the same specs then it'll be fine.

Cool, thats what I wanted to know. I was a little upset with it not having 1333, but I guess I will live.

If i recall correctly, we got 1333MHz RAM in our G73s because there was a supply issue with the 1066MHz RAM asus was supposed to use in the G73.

@Omniscient
Just wanted to confirm that the brand name is not the issue - Just make sure you get the same chip speed 1066Mhz in your case. I have the Kingston 1333 in my G73JH (BestBuy) and I added another 2GB Samsung 1333Mhz SO-DIMM with NO issues -

All ram is functioning normally, if there is any clock/timing differences, RAM defaults to the slowest chip. So if you do buy 1333, its not the end of the world, it will just run at 1066. Gotta love them SPDs -
Well I got to looking today and i can buy 8gb (2x4gb) for 80 bucks. I'm thinking of doing that instead of spending 30 on 2gb.
I can put 4 in now, and 4 more in later or all 8 in. I haven't completely decided yet, but I will soon. -

My G73JH-A1 came with Kingston 1333, and my G73JW-A1 has Hynix 1333.
