Hi Guys,
I've been looking in the forums for half an hour but wasn't able to find an answer to my questions.
I own a G73JW which has you may know has 2X 500Gb HDD inside. The machine is installed with the default image Windows 7 Home Premium and is running fine.
To boost the boot up performances, I've decided to purchase a Crucial M4 SSD to replace one of the 500Gb HDD.
I do not have the Windows Home Premium disc for re-installation and the only way to reinstall to my knowledge is by using the Recovery partition; which I've also backed up on DVDs btw.
Finally I also own a license of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I'd like to use if possible on the G73.
I'm looking for some feedback or experiences of people who moved to SSD and reinstalled Windows from scratch on a G73.
Even if full of crap, the standard image in the Recovery partition is quite handy as all drivers are already present.
Atm I have the following scenario in mind:
- Disconnect both HDD
- Connect SSD
- Install W7 Ultimate from DVD
- Connect the 500Gb HDD (the one without the Recovery partition)
- Keep the other 500Gb HDD as spare
What do you guys think is the best approach?
Thanks in advance

You can get the iso for any version of windows 7 here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html.
Your clen install plan seems sound, just make certain to get all the updated drivers for your G73 before doing the clean install, that way you'll have them ready. -
These ISO's have SP1 integrated, to save time
