I managed to flash my laptops bios with the wrong software and now it doesn't work very well at all. Long story short I did something solo when I should have asked for help. Now when I start my Asus G51J laptop some of the buttons light up and a fan starts, but that's it. No post no splash screen nothing.

I tried using How to flash your bios - BIOS upgrade to get it to work but I am either doing it wrong or using the wrong bios or its just not going to work for me.

The sticker on the back with the serial number says(at the top) Model:G51J
Mb Ver: G60JX and underneath the serial bar code it has :G51JX-X1
Which one do I use to identify which bios I should have/will be putting on there.(Assuming I can get a solution to work.)

I have seen some stuff about Asus Crash free Bios, but it isn't clear what I should do or even if it will work with my model.

If anyone can help me at all it would be great as I am not looking forward to 2 weeks waiting on a RMA.

    Thanks in much in advance.

If it's not doing a POST then I'd say RMA is best. Especially if you are a skill level with computers that you managed to flash with the wrong BIOS!

see if you can get into the BIOS by using F2 shortly after power on. If this works use another PC and go to this site:
    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
Put in your model number (G51JX, etc & OS when prompted and download the latest BIOS).
copy the BIOS to a USB memory stick that is formated FAT or FAT32 (NOT NTFS)
Make sure you are on AC power, and boot back to BIOS, there may be a utility called easy flash under the advanced tab and use this with the USB memory stick to fix the BIOS, hope this helps, Josea
