LAST AND FINAL EDIT: SOLVED! (Yes it was my own stupidity)
Hey guys I recently got my hands on my very own Asus G73JH-A1and don't get me wrong this thing is the beast that everyone hypes it up to be,however, I'm not sure if I got the runt-beast that was too slow for mama asus. What I'm trying to say is that after a few benchmark runs I've come to a clear conclusion that my machine is running "slower" ( word choice?) than other of the same model. I mean I can still run BF BC2 on 1080P with almost all highest settings but I want what I payed for!!
Based on my CPU-Z reading I think it might have something to do with my ram clocks and possibly my processor. My DRAM frequency is 665 Mhz which sounds extremely low but I might be getting frequency and clock speeds mixed up. Individual frequency for each stick is: 457, 533, 609, 685 mhz. Idk what the difference between the dram frequency and these are. In the case that the problem is my ram, how do I safely bring the speeds up to stock?

low 6300's overclocked. Here I am with these scores and people are getting high 8000's stock?!? and yes the test was on performance mode
Embarrassingly low 3DMark Vantage Score:
ORB - World of Performance
My PCMark Scores were also low but I can't open the file format for any of my Futuremark tools they're in weird file extension so I attached the file in the hopes that someone can see it.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY SITUATION GUYS
I'll be happy to provide extra info and I'll work on running PCMark again and getting a copy as a link.

1. There is nothing wrong with your CPU, it is downclocking when it doesn't need to run at full power.
2. There is nothing wrong with your RAM, it is DDR3, so (double data rate) 666MHz = 1333MHz (the fast stuff).
3. Make sure you are in performance mode and in the CCC, make sure you're set to max performance. -
hmm...but I don't get how everyone else is getting scores like 3000+ points than me :/ , and yes I'm n performance and I run thetests both with CPU overdrive on/off
-
Try updating your drivers and monitoring your temperatures while running your tests to see if your GPU is throttling.
-
I've been really weary on updating drivers based on what everyone's horror stories on the drivers have been
-
-
Are you running with twin turbo? ARE YOU SURE?
-
I updated my stock drivers from something like 9.12(?) to something along the lines of like 10.7 sorry about the uncertainties but I don't have access to the laptop at the moment, anyways after running the same tests I'm still getting those crazy low scores. And yes I'm positive that I've run the tests with both twin turbo on and off.
-
are u on AC power lol? That might be the problem..
-
Ya so the new drivers (10.7) are pretty unstable or atleast whenever I try to run 3DMark Vantage, it now crashes my laptop whenever I try to run it
-
In CCC do you have the powerplay on AC power set to MAX Performance? If it is set to Max Battery Life that could easily explain it.

Need to be plugged in and in performance mode. One of the two is your problem.

SOLVED
But its not any of those reasons I have no idea why but after deleting all ati display drivers and reinstalling what I thought was 10.1 (It was actualy the .exe to 10.7 xP) However, I don't think I'll go down to 10.1 anytime soon because my beauty of a laptop is now running at optimal performance just got 8100 in 3DMark with no overclocks -
CASE REOPENED >
After being elated with scores in the high 7000's low 8000s I am again back with the embarassing scores of before and yes maximum performance, it's plugged in and everything. It might be that throttling someone mentioned so I'd really appreciate a basic explanation as to what it is and how to check for it. Thanks in advance -
What BIOS are you running btw?
-
First of all sorry for my absence, I've been on vacation. I'm running 206 and not willing to use a modded bios because knowing my luck with that kind of stuff it will not work out, so far I've been getting high 6000's and low 7000's not OCed. One thing to note is that I'm not sure if my twin turbo mode shuts off because according to the intel turbo boost monitoring desktop gadget my processor will jump from 1.6 ghz to 1.73 to 2.0~ quite frequently even when I have it turned off in power4gear and the physical button. ( When the picture with the red (/) means off right? and in power4gear is it off when the red turbo option is visible or the off option is visible?)
-
Oh and running 10.7 catalyst because I have never had a GSOD
-
-
I'll try that once I find my flash drive, ( What software can I use to backup my stuff just in case things go wrong), and me ruvs you rong time if you could answer the twin turbo concern I have in parentheses
Thanks in Advance!

I am now currently on BIOS 209 and running Catalyst 10.7...I consistently now get between 6900-7000 which I am still not happy with. Upon first use I noticed that 209 kept downclocking my gpu but once I set it at 705 it stopped doing that. Anyways I do also believe that my Intel Turbo Boost feature is not shutting off. Based off the gadget it seems like its always on, is there a way I can turn off this feature permanently because I believe its doing me more harm than good

Ya that whole Asus Twin Turbo, Intel Turboboost thing is very confusing so sorry if I mix them up or sound like an idiot when I talk about them but I'm running 3dmark at performance settings 1280x1024, this is what was stock with the software so I stuck with it

What is it like in terms of real world performance..such as in games? If it performs fine don't worry about benches. Can be more trouble than they are worth.

I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!
Call me an idiot, whatever, but I had forgotten that I set AA and Aniso and all that good stuff to max in CCC, once I set everything to defaults I got a consistent 8100+ score. Sorry for my stupidity but I really did appreciate all this input you guys gave me. -
....nice....just nice.
-
Happens to everyone at least once lol. Were all like why is everything running so slow... Ahhh.. 24X AA (Edge Detect)...
Really Low Benchmark scores for my G73JH-A1!
