    Hi all,
I know this can be a bit tricky than usual however i really want to know what Realtek Digital Output is in my Mixer and Realtek Audio Manager...

When i first see Realtek Digital Output, i though there must be digital output such as optical output however this notebook doesn't have any optical output which is supposed to emit a red light in it, and it has only 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack.

I can hear normal sound using "Speakers of Realtek HD Audio" however no sound from when i "test" (through Control Panel) from Realtek Digital Output? Is there devices really that can use 3.5mm jack for digitial receiver purposes or maybe Realtek Digital Output is for HDMI output?

    Please enlight me.

    Thanks!

Really? I looked at the 3.5mm jack hole carefully however i didn't see red light, maybe it's visible when you plug this adapter at the end of adapter's optical output?

Plus, what kind of digital devices can we connect to this 3.5mm jack? Sth like 5.1 Dolby Digital HT audio system? I'm still surprised to see that an analog jack supports digital output :=)

DO NOT BUY THE ADAPTER UNLESS YOU ARE OK WITH 2.0. For some reason, you can't do surround sound through optical because Dolby Digital Live doesn't work without an external sound card (unless this has changed). I learned that the hard way lol At least I only wasted like $3.

..and we still have chance to connect a 2.1 or more speakers with subwoofer as multi-speaker solution like in old days like Logitech x240 as a legacy external audio solution? (Speaker's of G53JW is not much powerful and not enough).

    Amazon.com: Logitech X-240 2.1 Speakers (Black): Electronics

It has 3.5mm standard jack connector which is intended to connect headphone jack of my notebook and it seems analog.

    Right?

The optical port will only light up if a jack is inserted and digital audio is playing.

One good way to find out is by shining a flashlight into the port - if you can see a small lens at the end of the port then it most likely has an optical out.

The digital optical port can be used to connect to anything that supports S/PDIF, with all of it's limitations.
