You know I've noticed no difference between 2.53 and 2.55. I see no reason to update this. <<

Gonna wait for Chas's mirror. Realtek's is painfully slow.

On another note, 2.55 locks up the Creative X-Fi software from the other thread, while everything's functional on R2.54.

Will guinea pig with R2.56.

Just go to Station Drivers. If the driver is out publicly, it'll be there.

And what is the fear over this? It's just a realtek driver and takes 5 minutes to install. This thread is ridiculous.

 

Only for you perhaps. 2.55 + X-Fi from that post working here.

Good to know. For me, R2.55's lockups are replicable. Every time I try to play a wav file I get a hard lock, which only a power button hold down solves.

Anyhoo, R2.56 works fine here at the mo. With the X-Fi.

 

Hi chastity how come the drivers from Realtek website are 81 megs and the mirror link you posted are only 41 megs ?

 

Chastity might have uploaded the one that's for Windows 7 only. The one with the bigger size might have been the one that can be installed for 32bit and 64bit platforms.

 

Ok cool thanks i got a fast download for the 81meg driver so going to install them in 4 mins.

 

i've got some problems with 2.55.. trying this out.. but i'm really more interested in a creative update. heir drivers absolutely suck.. still waiting for the software update!

Correct. The default OS is Win 7 x64, so I only mirror those versions.
