    Realtek HD R254 Drivers

I just got these and loaded them, seem to work find and my audio is louder and not washing out.

Link: Realtek choose the HD driver download, can not link straight through.

They show they where put up on the 5th of November.

I loaded them too. I noticed that the sound can "wash out" sometimes if the bass boost is enabled. When playing music with a lot of bass like "Boom Boom Pow" from The Black Eyed Peas I noticed it would wash out a bit when the bass hits. Turning down the bass boost a tad solved this. I also noticed that bass boost gets disabled in Creative when you load this driver. You can re-enable it but it is off by default when you load the new driver. That may be why you get the impression that it is no longer washing out. Perhaps you didn't have that feature turned on before in which case I am completely wrong and can be ignored.

Yeah , it resets all the settings in the sound system when you unload the older driver.
Every time I have upgraded this driver I have had to go in and reset all the settings in Soundblaster settings.
When I loaded this driver the sound did not wash out as much as the first two.
The last driver from Realtek was better than the first one that came on the computer. They seem to be getting it tuned better with each release.
This last driver made the change enough that I noticed it straight away when I got everything reset and started playing a video.

I will be glad when they get the updated drivers for the Xfi that came with our computers, this one did not work from the start. I wonder if anyone has heard anything more on this and where ASUS is on getting the update that Gary was working on. The last I saw was a post from someone stating that they where still waiting on Creative . And that was a few weeks ago!

Yeah, it will be nice to have the sound fully working on our systems. I will be glad when they get them up for us to download and use!
