Do people use software like Acronis True Imageto make a recovery image to roll back instead of the recovery disks that are made when g73 is first brought. Also if people do used drive image software when do they image the drive like before apps and games are installed or after.

The image program that came with the laptop (ai recovery) never worked for me, despite my burning 20+ disks trying to get it to work. I find it very easy to just reinstall everything. Otherwise I would use acronis and I'd do it after installing windows and my basic programs and optimizations which are time consuming. Games come and go so I wouldn't back them up, I can always redownload them from steam.

Using a program like Acronis will allow you to make current backups so that you can recover or roll back to a copy is is fully working and has all your programs and games already installed.

You can even do an On-The-Fly backup if you like.

I use an external USB 880G HDD to store my Acronis images. I make backups whenever I feel the need due to updates and application installs. There is no reason why you could not make images before you install stuff, and after. This way you can roll back to any point you need to.
