I just bought my G73SW-A1 recently and I burned the recovery disks successfully the first time. However, one of the recovery DVDs got damaged so I went back and tried to burn a new set of recovery disks but I wasn't able to do so. Every time I start the AI Recovery process I get this error message:

Does anyone know how to help with this problem?

Yes, don't use the built-in recovery disc system. :)

The best way to use it is to allow it to make the images, move/copy them to another directory, and then quit the program. Then use whatever burner software you like to burn the iso files. It has a habit of not burning 100% accurate burns, which is bad when it's an emergency recovery set.

Or use a 3rd party software or Windows Backup to make partition images. I use Acronis myself.

The data on the recovery partition may have become corrupted. I have no idea if this is really how it works, but it may be checking a hash against what is actually there and it's not matching. You may be able to use a 3rd party disk utility (like gparted from an ubuntu livecd) to check the recovery partition for errors. You can't use a normal chkdsk on it because it's a hidden partition with no drive letter.

How do you get the ai recovery agent to burn iso'srather than to a disc?

Also if i wiped the laptop and edited the partitions to something more flexible than it currently is would the discs work?

    As it comes with a 175gb, 500 gb, 350 and 350 spilt.

Or is there a way i can alter this in windows?

    Thanks for your help!
