Red alert! Gpu 114c on my g53jw please help

Guys everything seemed right till last night.. Suddenly, when i switched on my computer today morning, the gpu temperature rose up to 114c in no time.. So i switched off my notebook.. I think the gpu fan is not running since the hot air flow in the vent was very low when compared to the usual flow.. What shall i do? Please help..

 

If you can get into windows you can check if the fan is runing with Hwinfo sensors.

For it to reach that temperature straight away it sounds as though the fan is not running or running correctly as degraded thermal paste would not do this it sounds as though the cooling system is not working at all this can also be if the heatsink has been shifted away from the chip. Have you dropped or banged it?

If you are confident whip it open and take a look.

 

Thanks for the reply.. I didnt drop it or bang it.. Last night it was working fine, i played f1 for three hours with temps steady at 75-85c.. Laptop was in the same position this morning but the temperatures were sky high. I checked with hwinfo and My cpu fan is working properly while the gpu fan is not even spinning.. I think its jammed.. Will this be covered under warranty? Should i rma it?

 

Yes it will be covered if it is under warranty send it in. You can open it up and check yourself but recommend only doing that if you are confident.

 

Dallers is correct - man is he good! Just wanted to add if you have not registered for Acidental Damage warranty (first year) I would do that before contacting them just in case it turns out a young child stored a small toy in your air vent

 

first thing to do. dont use your laptop cos you will fry it within minutes. rma it asap. it seems your gpu core is not properly "touch" the heatsink, so core is sky high.
