My Nvidia GTS 360M burned out on my G60jx. I'm trying to remove it so I can try baking it before sending it to ASUS for repair (not under warranty). The problem is that one of the screws is under part of the back cover of the laptop.

I've removed all of the screws I can find on the back, including under the battery and DVD drive. I even removed a rubber foot (no screws) and keyboard (2 screws), but for some reason I can't pop it apart. Suggestions?

Look for screws hiding around the ODD, remove any add in cards that may be providing a physical connection.

Thanks Meeker, I got it apart. Unfortunately I must have royally screwed something up because now it won't boot. The lights come on and the HDD spins for a sec, and nothing else happens (no cpu fan, no light to monitor, etc). Should have just left it alone. It worked in VGA mode, but the non-natural resolution was ticking me off. Had an RMA to send it in for a non-warranty repair but decided to give the old "bake a card" trick a try. Expensive mistake!

You may have over baked it, but maybe you passed some static into it.

If it was broken anyway it would likely not have lasted long as it was.
