Hi guys like two weeks ago I repasted my g73jh and while the repaste went great, I had some problems with my second hard drive.

I run my setup with my windows partition on a solid state and had most of my programs and music on a big second HDD... After putting my pc back together it did not read my HDD. So after trying a couple of things i pulled it out and tried to access it by an external enclosure and indeed it was corrupted.

I tried to recover the 300 Gb's y lost but i forgot about it and simply ormated the drive to get through the damn problem. but after i did all this i put it back and the SATA drive did not read the drive!....its weird i dont really know which is causing problems..

So yeah i need some input on this is there any way to know if my SATA is actually working?

Are both drives not working, if that is the case, check that the SATA cable is connected to both the SATA board and the motherboard. The cable is very short and can be easily disconnected.

The only thing I can think of is removing the keyboard, removing the ribbon cable for the controller, and reinstalling it. Look it over really well and make sure there's no gummy tape residue on the metal contacts of the ribbon cable and also make sure the cable isn't kinked and damaged.

The ribbon cable under the keyboard area near the touchpad in the center is the SATA connection to the hard drive "Tee" connector. If there was a problem with that connection it could cause this trouble. I would look it over since you don't have to take the whole laptop apart to check it.
