I want to replace the screen on a G73JH-BST7.

I found this website selling screens but they don't have a model number or any important stats like glare, gamut, or contrast ratio.

ASUS G73 replacement Laptop LCD Screen from $64.99 Brand-new screens (never used).

Anyone have one of these screens or know where to find specs or reviews for them?

Also I noticed some of the pictures show the video socket on the left or the right. Do I need to worry about which side the video socket is on?

The BST-7 is a Best Buy model and a bit gimped with the 1600x900 display. If you'd like to go to a 1080p display, I'd definitely recommend the AUO B173HW01 V5. It's a matte display and made a huge improvement in overall viewability... off the top of my head I think it's 72% gamut.

You do have to worry about what side the socket is on. On the BST7 at least, the connector is on the left(if you were facing the screen during normal use) side of the notebook. The V5 I got had the connector on that side and it was a relatively simple process to install. You can also look for a V4 model as well; it is a glossy finish but has better gamut; I think 90% if I recall correctly?

Is it possible by the way to use a 120hz Full HD panel with the G73JH in 2D mode? I used the G73SW of a friend a few days ago and loved the smoothness of the 120hz panel in 2D mode :)

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the model number for the 1600x900 is though? I've looked at a 1080p screen and the tiny fonts/icons/programs hurt my eyes.

Sorry it took me this long to get back on this. The original part number on mine is an AUO B173RW01. The connector is on the right side of the laptop relative to you looking at it when using it normally.

This seems to be a consistent issue with the BB version. I just bought one via eBay and I'm assuming it was sold because of the poor display. It looks fine for web browsing but as soon as you load up a game those blacks look horrendous. For the record I have the AUO139e (b173rw01 v.3). I've heard others say this one is better than the v.1 or v.0 or whatever but I beg to differ. Maybe somethings wrong with mine. I'm going to make a post with my pictures I took to see if this is normal on this display. Either way I've already ordered a new display. We'll see in 3 days if it helps.

Hope it is ok to bump my question after a few months, is it possible to use a 120hz screen (Without 3D) on the G73JH?

Sounds great, which 120hz screen would be a good choice?

I saw that, but has anyone practical usage with such screens yet? Are there any tests/benchmarks about the color range and brightness?

Well I simply like how smooth the picture is and my eyes feel more comfortable, I would only buy a new "3D NB" to get a 120hz screen not for that 3D stuff which I would never use.

The question is which 120hz screen is a good one and which ones are really bad?

because it uses same pin and any led lcd will work if the pin is same , you can even connect an alienware screen to Jh and it would work fine.

I had serious issues replacing the screen on my G73. I ended up returning several screens and using the one that came with it. NEVER order from Screencountry or any affiliated company - they're thugs. Every screen they sent me had a dead or bright pixel.
