    Hi guys,

I read through many of the threads but couldn't find any information for China.
What I'm looking is a authorized reseller in mainland China or Hong Kong where the machine can be configured (similar Xotic PC, Gentech PC, ExcaliberPC...).

Also had a look on the official Asus pages but couldn't find one.

Thanks is someone has an idea.

    Vince

Why not check the ASUS china website, the ASUS usa site has a list of resellers
Striker had posted a link to it(USA resellers) somewhere in the main g73 thread. The china site must have a similar page

My suggestion is to order it from the US. Many stores in HK don't offer much customization and even if they do, they'll charge you for it (or at least charge a lot for the upgrade). MSRP prices in HK are also more expensive than the US and even if you factor in the shipping costs, it'll still end up cheaper by purchasing a laptop from a US reseller.

However, if you feel inclined to check out the HK stores, try Wan Chain computer Centre on Hennessy Road and Golden Computer Arcade in Shum Shui Po. Both are located adjacent to MTR stations.

Buying a laptop in Hong Kong seems very confusing and hectic because of the wide choice and narrow walkways in the shopping arcades. Better to buy online, where you are not subjected to pressure from retailers and have more peace and time deciding if you want to buy a laptop. I've been to the places mentioned above and the place is really crowded and scary because it's dark and full of people, with occasional adult shops.

I'm from HK too and I am surprised to find out how backward our computer centres (golden, wanchai) were when I was told by the official Asus dealers (Centralfield, etc) that the G73 would only be available in May AND costing HKD 18,000- 20,000 :O

I therefore ordered from powernotebooks ( www.powernotebooks.com) and Donald was most helpful on that. Shipping is about 1xx USD and including the wired transfer money it's only $13,000 :)

My guess is that there isn't a great demand for gaming laptops in Hong Kong...

Both are reputable resellers and you can't go wrong with either. For my past Asus laptop purchases, I went with GenTech and they have exceeded my expectations every time. My suggest is to give each reseller a call and ask for a shipping quote + payment terms, then compare.

I would really recommend Donald from powernotebooks. I will be having mine shipped to me next week (before 11th Hong Kong time) while if you order from either Xotic or Gentech you'll probably have to wait until some time in April.

Just my two cents, based on my personal experience :)
