    Ok first question..

What does the Rest button do really?
How long do you have to press it for it to do it thing?

    RANT!!!!!!!!!
Ok the CPU fan bear failed.
Took it to BB GEEK people. THey send it away for 2 weeks and fix it.
THEN..... THey forget to Install the Screws that hold the Hard drive....
It spilts out and my computer will not boot up, without an error saying install media....

Ok I fix the hard drive so it can not move.

But darnit, why in the world did they forget those screws and now, what others are missing????

Do I really want ti gone for another 2 weeks for them to check it again???

I am not fan of this....

    Rant Over....

    Hello Hrogi,

Definitely can understand your frustration -
In regards to "whether or not you should send it back" - My suggestion is to turn it off and move the computer around is ways to check for loose internal pieces. If you hear something moving around inside or feel any thing move inside, then it is possible a screw was missed. - At which point you can determine the necessity of getting it re-repaired.

This is what the manaul states about the "reset button"
    Shutdown Button (Emergency)
In case your operating system cannot properly turn OFF or restart, the shutdown button can be pressed with a straightened paper clip to shutdown the Notebook PC.

I am guessing that it is very similar to the hard power off - which is pressing and holding the power button down for 10-15 seconds. It does not reset the bios or make any configuration changes. Basically it is a failsafe button for a system that has hung.

    Hope this helps,
    In Peace and Agape,
    Trav...

Geek Squad are some of the most sloppiest techs I have ever seen in my life. Not only do they rip people off who have minimal experience with technology, but they ruin anything they touch.

I would walk into the store and refuse to leave/make a scene until they offered me a very FAST solution. I then would phone corporate and complain (perhaps get a 100-200$ gift card for my trouble).

    Thanks guys..

Good to know the Rest button does not mess with much....

I used it, not knowing the Hard drive was loose...
I used a block to push the hard drive in place and stay in place for now.

I will go back to BB <being Nice> and get new screws..
As nothing sounds loose, I wll just fix this and run away from them...

    Oh well...
