One of my rubber feet on the bottom of my Asus G73JH A-1 has gone missing and I was wondering if I could get a replacement for it. I noticed it after another one came loose but was able to put it back in with the glue still sticking on it. I'm going to contact ASUS to see but, was wondering if there are stores that would sell it. I fear ASUS will say to send the whole laptop back. It is just a cosmetic piece.

lol, I still don't get how people lose their rubber feet on their G73JH. I haven't had this issue, but so far I've heard people having to send it in for ASUS to "fix" it. One member made his own rubber feet, but the common solution is to supper glue it.
ASUS estore doesn't have it, but you can search this site for it:

It's actually pretty easy for them to come off. Just pulling the laptop across the desk a little results on one of the rear feet on mine coming off. Crazy glue is often not suggested as it can eat away at the rubber. I have heard that epoxy or "gorilla glue" work great. If anyone else has heard anything more hopeful about super/crazy glue, please post. It is a lot easier to use and get hold of.
-
Mine came off just from rubbing against the desk everyday. I used some J-B Weld (the closest thing to superglue I have lying around) and they're still firmly attached
-
-
My solution is to put some tape over the rear feet, when you slide it you always lift it up slightly on the front, when you put it down the front feet ensure the unit stays in place.
-
My two back corner feet are off, they tend to get warm and become less firmly attached
-
Conclusion.... Never drag your asus across a surface. Lift it up and place it down gently.
-
Not just asus, all laptops. My solution works real good(see 2 posts up)

Oh well. -

This is what I'll be using. Deals with heat really well.
3M 8100 Black Weatherstrip Adhesive
Used it to adhere a heatshield to the lower side of my motorcycle's rear rack. The area gets REALLY hot. Burn your fingers hot. It's 1/2" over the exhaust. -
One of mine keeps coming off and it is damn annoying.
-
I used the cheapest tape I could find
-
I'm missing one of the long triangle ones that sits on both sides of the battery. Mine is the one below the three switches for keyboard lighting, performance mode and screen mode.
The one below the power button was stuck to my knee and that's how I found out there was a problem.
I have no clue where the missing one is at and will probably never find it.
Damn it.
We need to petition ASUS to send these out via snail mail since there is obviously a problem with the adhesive. Sending the laptop back is not an option considering they have abysmal service.
Any other ideas? -
It's a problem with mine too. Thus far I've always caught it, but I think I'm going to go the gorilla glue route. Whenever the adhesive heats up it seems to get soft and comes off really easily.
Another solution would just be to get a thick rubber mat and cut your own- some of those rubber potholders would probably work if you could find one thick enough. -
I had one fall off on me yesterday. I don't ever drag laptops across desks. I think the problem is just the adhesive does not handle heat so well. That just means they went with a normal adhesive. They should send us upgraded ones at our request.

I haven't used it on my G73, but the last time I had an issue like this I went to Lowe's and picked up some circular stick on floor protectors for speakers, furniture, etc.
The rubber kind, not the felt -
Can we call up Asus and ask them to send to us?
-
Super glue fixed mine.. I'd try it all.

Some one know where buy replacemnet feet? I look for in asusparts.eu but i cant fid it? what is the code to look for? tks
-
Actually both the back ones went missing on my new G73jw and I've only had it for 2 weeks. I just found them right now in the bottom of my backpack....
-
I went to Lowes and got the rubber stick on feet they have. There are a few sizes and I just got the ones that I though would work the best. I also used super glue and I have not had any issues with the feet sense I have fixed them.

Suggestion to international shopping?

Mine (the long ones beside the battery) went missing a few days after I got mine.
Since my church had just recently received through insurance, a new Roland M400 Mixing Board, (we keep the board on the desk, and the inputs in a rack below it) the inputs had huge (well 1" sq) rubber feet with a super adhesive on them. I've put three on the underside - one at each each triangle, and one before the battery and I've drug the SOBs across my desk with no problems. -
Same problem on mine. Only two weeks old. caught one of the rear corner ones on my pants, but other one is gone. Has anyone found out where to get actual replacements yet. Or maybe even just a laptop shell that would have them on it?
-
I left mine without them... I lost them after using the laptop in bed and I end up losing one. So I took the other one off since it had been put onplace once before and well they are not as useful really as long as you keep the big rubber on the back.
-
I am always sliding my laptop back and forth on my desk. The left one started to come off, luckily I noticed it. To correct the problem, like someone else mentioned, I just put transparent scotch tape over the rear pads. It makes it much easier to slide on the desk and it saves the pads from peeling off. Now when I move it I just have to pick up the front slightly and it will easily slide to the new position.

Do I have to ship back my G73 for them to put in a rubber feet on the bottom or are they willing to ship me the rubber piece. I just got the G73 in today and noticed one of them were missing. Haven't found a answer to this question so I had to ask. Thanks

The answer here is probably yes. We have tried to get the rubber feet just about every couple of weeks. Sadly Asus says that they are on back order with no ETA. The rubber feet coming off is a very common issue and happens on nearly every G73. I would contact asus periodically and ask them if they have the rubber feet in stock. They SHOULD be able to send them to you, its not like it requires an RMA to put rubber feet on. Although from many of our customers we have heard that Asus told them that they require an RMA if they want the feet. If any of the feet ever show up at Xoticpc I would be glad to help you out and set you up with some. Right now I'm not holding my breath. I personally need 2 feet myself for my own G73.
Good luck and enjoy that computer

The rubber feet on my new G73 fell off within a week or 2 of ownership. If you are moving around a lot and use a backpack to transport your laptop daily, then you could send the PC of a wonderful Asus RMA experience and find out that the new ones don't last any longer. It is up to you.
-
Two of mine fell off repeatedly until i put some super glue and then fit it in, then i put super glu around the edges to keep it in place.
never came off after that -

Hmm, does anyone else see a trend here?
ANYTHING that may cost Asus money, they drag thier feet on and make it impossible to get thier help with.
How convenient is it that the feet are on backorder??? (C'mon, they have to produce hundreds of thousands of sets at a time.)
Notice how they refuse to deal with missed keystrokes/touchpad freakouts???
Notice how it is a series of discussions with Creative in regards to a MB2 package that actually is designed to work with the shipping OS, vs the flakey and broken Audigy package they bundle with it? (and notice how the G73JW gets a subset of the new Win7 package while the G73JH users are left in the wind to twist)
All in all it looks, smells, walks and sounds like a company that doesn't want to support it's users AT ALL!!!
We are all grateful to Gary for what he has done so far, but honestly, we shouldn't have to NEED someone like Gary to get a company to support thier products.
We have personally held off any more Asus purchases (including a GTX580) until the G73JH starts getting supported properly. -
They come in 4 or 6 inch squares and have the sticky back, I just cut the parts out to fit the space that needed the feet replaced.
And after they where stuck on I have not had one come off, so the glue that was used had to be of a better type.
It cost me 6 dollars for the pads . And that was easier and cheaper than sending in the Notebook and waiting for a week or more to get them fixed.
You might look into this in your area as I am sure you can find some like I used and get it fixed yourself and not have to go through all the mess of sending in the unit.
Same here on holding off on buying anything from ASUS, We are waiting to see what is done to resolve this. -
well since I am not on a boat, and my surface doesn't move, why do I care that I have no rear rubber pads?
-

i wish there was a way i could send this whole thread to whitewhine.com , haha =]

this is disgusting on a $2400 notebook.. Asus should do something.. complete disgrace that it doesn't even have proper feet...
-
Noooo. One of my feet (The one on the sides of the battery) fell off when I wasn't looking. Now I don't know where it is, this be lame. My OCD is having a heart attack now. D:
-
-
Yeah, lost both feet, only found one... Had the kids looking for an hour for it...
-
Here's what I did to fix it, no messy superglue.
Just take black electrical tape and tape the 2 rubber feet at the back of the laptop with 3 strips vertical each. It'll make the laptop slide easier and won't ever fall off. -
One came off more times than I can remember. Eventually, it vanished. My solution?
Pulled the other little off and didn't look back.
Much better. -
-
One of the rubber padding things on the bottom of my G73 came off without me noticing. Is there any way to replace these?
-
Craft store and x-acto knife. No official solution.

Check the liner of your backpack or carrier.
