I will receive an Asus G73-A2 (with 2x500gb HDDs) by the end of this week and I am hoping to install a Kingston SSDNow 128Gb hard drive in it, and do a clean reinstall of windows afterwards. I plan to implant the extra 500gb hard drive into my other 18.4 incher (see sig). Just wondering what difficulties I may face during this plan - I heard that Asus' recovery hardware has to be burnt into DVDs and that some hidden partitions cannot be removed from the harddrive. Is that true?

Asus is similar to pretty much all others now. You need to ask yourself if you will ever need the recovery partion first off and alot of that is dependent on your proficiency with systems, software and drivers.
Unlike other Os's Win7 is chalk full of drivers and I have built a number of systems now (clean installs) where not a single driver was required...That was it...simply Install Win7.
A few may require a driver or two so I would advise that you go to Asus and download all the support drivers as a just in case.
But there is another solution for ya....
Go to backup and save a System Image set to your extra hard drive. Its simply a complete recovery just in case down the road. Then do your clean install....
