    SSD not recognized in AHCI mode

    Still trying to get an SSD correctly configured on my g73jh. Right now, it is installed as a secondary drive. Until I get that figured out, I don't want to proceed to using it as the primary.

    Anyhow: I've followed all the directions in this and other forums, and I think I've got all of the drivers required. But:

    If I set AHCI mode in BIOS, only the HDD is recognized.
    If I set IDE mode in BIOS, both the HDD and SDD are recognized, but I take a big performance hit for running in IDE mode -> self-defeating.

    With IDE, the SDD (Crucial 300 128 GB) actually shows good results with CrystalDiskMark (i.e. nothing wrong with the SDD).

    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Try swapping them in the bays, some people have reported that this worked.
