So I've had y OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD for a wee while now. When I first gt it benchamrking on AS SSD I was getting around 205 Read speeds and about 120-140 writes speeds if I remember correctly. Now I ran the test again last night just to see if its any different and it was. Read speeds were still around the same but write speeds had dropped to around 70-high80s MBS.

Any idea why this has happened? Obviously I have a bit of stuff stored on it now, but surely that wouldnt make a difference would it??

Option 1: The drive slows down when its filled ~over 80% capacity. Thats pretty normal sadly...

Option 2: TRIM isnt doing its job properly (isnt erasing cells with invalid data), and the cells are filled with invalid and valid data, so the cell data has to be copied to the cache, erased and only then it can be written with fresh data along with the part of old valid data - this obviously causes a delay in the write process - slows write speeds.

Solution: Make sure the drive isnt too filled up and do a manual cell wipe (OCZ has guides on their forums for this).
