I've been thinking about selecting this HDD for the secondary harddrive bay on the ASUS G53JW:

    500GB (w/ 4GB SSD Memory) Seagate XT 7200RPM NCQ Hybrid 32MB Cache (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s)

Is it good and worth it or should I get the standard 500GB? Is the primary harddrive bay faster than the secondary harddrive bay?

Meh...if it's not more than 20$ over the price of a regular HDD just get it. Personally, I was a little disappointed but I had high expectations. Boot time is slightly improved. The difference is very small though, maybe cut 3-4 seconds off of the regular 50 sec boot. But for all the rest or regular windows use, the difference is not noticeable

As a seconday drive don't bother. As a primary drive it is great but for just data storage and the like a regular 7200 RPM drive is fine.

i have it for a secondary drive and its quite good.. i wouldn't complain about it or anything but yeah unless you got money to burn like i did , i suggest you get a normal drive.
