Took my Asus G60JX back to best buy since the headphone sensor in the audio jack broke and my internal speakers would no longer work. Got called back yesterday saying they couldnt fix it and they were going to replace it. After 4.5 hours of fighting with Best Buy since over what they consider a "comparable" laptop I ended up walking away with $1125 in store credit.
I went to a different BB and purchased the only gaming laptop they had which was the G73SW-BST6 putting the difference on my BB credit card. Well I get home and I do some research and find out about the whole 128 bit memory bus butchered graphic card.
So now I am either stuck with this G73SW-BST6 or $1125 in store credit (that I am still paying off on my BB credit card) and no laptop.
I have been trying to do some research on when the G74 will be coming out and no one seems to have a date. Also from what I am reading the 560GTX in the G74 isnt that good to begin with.
Ran some benchmarks and the laptop is pulling stock:
3DMark06: 14,956
3DMark11: 1,761
I was wondering what you guys would do in this situation, keep the G73SW or sit on store credit (that I am making monthly payments on) hoping that they will come out with a better laptop soon... I refuse to buy a laptop from anywhere else as long as I have $1125 in store credit rotting so a laptop from BB is my only option.
Thanks

My friend ran into the same situation. He took it back and asked them to give him the refurbished G73JH-BST7 for $999. Has been much happier since.

Yeah unfortunatly they no longer carry the G73JH refurbs, its gimp video card or nothing.
