    Hey all,

Not sure if you guys have had a chance to pick this up, but it runs great on medium @ 1080p. However, split-screen is AWFUL. Unplayable on lowest settings at 720p. Is this just a hardware / poor coding limitation or is there a patch to be expected that will make split-screen playable on the G73? Are there any console commands that could improve performance that I'm not aware of?

It just doesn't make sense to me that this game runs so poorly on split-screen when L4D2 runs like butter on 1080p at high settings.

As always, any input / discussion appreciated :D

LOL :D Unfortunately the latter runs like crap on single player as well when things get a little busier. Looks like this laptop is officially dated :(

I checked some screenshots / videos today and it looks for me quite similar with "Serious Sam 2 HD" which runs at like ... 1000FPS? on the G73. What I try to say is that the requirements of SS3 are way too high for the given graphics, in my opinion a quite bad optimized game engine.

Normally the G73 should handle the split-screen mode easily while its running all other Serious Sam episodes in the background :p

    Yes you can!

Because you can use Xbox 360 controllers and other Gamepads on the PC. Although I've seen multi-keyboard / mouse integration in games before.

Perhaps, but as far as it stands, the game is unplayable at any settings on the G73 as it looks AWFUL on lowest graphics even at 1080p and still manages to dip to >30 FPS in very random areas.

My favourite Serious Sam was the good old "Serious Sam 1", the graphics were very decent and the requirements pretty low. It was also running very smooth on my Voodoo 3 in my secondary PC (10 years ago), simply a excellent shooter.

But SS3 is simply disappointing me, I expected more ... not only a "Serious Sam 2 HD+" or however you can call it.

yup... 16player co-op! And lots of fun... was in a 10 player game yesterday and it's funny as all hell with a bunch of Sam's running all willy nilly. Kinda cool doing so as someone in that large of a group usually knows where a number of the secrets are.

Sucks on the 4 player split screen, but I don't play that mode so no idea if there is a fix.

How are you even running single player on a G73? Runs like garbage on mine.
