    Hello everyone!
I wanted to buy a gaming laptop, and the g73 looked like a good choice, good specs, good hardware, good bechs and great price yet...
Exploring the forums (specially this one) I found out that the g73jh suffered from many "diseases":
    Overheating (GPU only)
    Keyboard lag
random screen/GPU problems (bios related problems?)

(notice I'm not english, so this is what I grasped from all the various thread, if I understood something wrong, just correct me!)

Then g73jW came out, USB3, new hdmi and what else, faster ram/cpu? and the new gtx460m... which seems to be actualy QUITE slower than the HD5870...

Yet the new model has lower GPU temps and seems more stable (no more bugs of kind).

    NOW,
Assuming I understood everything right, I'd like to know something:

Is the G73jh-B1 suffering all the bugs of the previous G73jh-A1/A2???

Can these problem be fixed with just a bios update?

For cooling the HD5870 temp, is a "Thermal Compound" option, from sites like Xoticpc, a good idea or not? does it void the warranty though?

Cuz I can't figure out wich version of the two is better

    1) They can be present, yes, tho probably the majority of units are fine.

    2) There are updates you can try, plus a few working workarounds.

    3) XoticPC can do a repaste without voiding the warranty, since they are Authorized resellers. If you are uncomfortable doing your own repaste, then let them do it with ICD7. :)

Almost all of the G73 issues have been fixed with drivers and updates. The only issue that really remains is a complaint that a few people have had over a finicky touchpad.

I love this computer. It runs cool (just keep your fans clean), and cruises through every program I throw at it.
