So I was checking my feed reader and I saw something that excited me. I was a huge fan of the old original Total War, but I haven't played the new ones. They just released the specs for it and well, look for yourselves.

Thats kind of crazy! I wonder how our systems will do on it?

Is anyone else excited about this? And should I grab one of the latest Total Wars?

For those of you who want to see it check these videos

5870M will run this fine. It's likely using the same engine as Napoleon Total War. The DX11 features will likely just be for tessellation on water.

In a large scale battle game like this, just turn off tessellation, not worth it. If they use DirectCompute and Shader 5.0 for fog (fog of war) and other details then I'll be impressed. If it's just tessellation, then meh. Run it in Dx10/DX9 and forget about it.

Total War series are one of the few good PC games still and they have plenty of options and configurations for video settings to get a game to look awesome and running great on any system. I see no reason why Shogun 2 will divert from this. Empire Total War and Napoleon both run fine.

Cool man, thanks for the info.

I have been removed from PC gaming for years now and bought his with the intentions of playing some just like this. I am really excited and may pick up the older ones if I can.
