    Should I update the BIOS?

    Well, this week I will have G53SW-A1 at last... (shipping...)
    So, I really wanna know, should I update the BIOS? Why? Is it important?

    Usually the rule of thumb with BIOS if you are not familiar with them is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Because if something goes wrong during a BIOS update, it can result in a dead computer.

    People usually update BIOS if they are having an issue with their current system. For example, my ASUS G60JX would freeze when i unplugged it from AC with the original BIOS. I updated my BIOS and the issue was resolved.

    Some people download custom system bios or custom vbios (videocard bios) that allow them to customize things like fan speeds, voltages, what temperature the fan RPM changes at, etc.

    I guess your question "Should i update the bios?" is a bit vague.

    If you are having problems, post them and we will see if they are possibly BIOS related.
