I have finally got around to taking apart my precious laptop (g73jh) and carefully followed several guides as well as the video. Everything went smooth and everything worked great after put in back together after. BUT problem is after 20mins of using touchpad only I get same issues again. Erratic mouse movement and all that I dont know anymore.

I want to say its maybe the drivers but i have tried many drivers and still not work. I will keep trying but I can say that unfortunate me that removing the foil did not help fix my TP.

    :( :(

Get the latest bios if you do not have it already and get the latest drivers from Asus. It is also possible that you have a defective touchpad.

As Kuro said your problem is going to be the glue then if its not software related.

For me just the silver fixed it, the majority it requires removing the base cleaning the glue and then reassembling as the sticking is related to that wereas mine was just erratic behaviour.

Yes gentleman, i have removed the glue residue after i took out the foil.

I just opened it up again to double-check that everything was clean and nothing was wrong with the TP, BUT still TP is not working properly....not worse than before, but same. Will work fine for 15-20 mins then act stupid for 10-15 mins over and over.

No warrenty on mine anymore and im not too happy about most people's RMA results so i think i may just live with it...back to using mouse 100% always

This is not unheard of. Removing the glue and foil + latest BIOS updates didn't do anything for me either.

I am in the same boat, did all that stuff and my tp is horrible. I am afraid to send it back for just that issue when everything else is fine. Mine even does something I have not heard anyone else complain about. If you push in the left hand side of the tp as if you are typing the cursor will stop or it will lock as if you are trying to scroll. Take your had off and it works for a little while.

My JH did that. I've found that the left side of the palmrest on the G73s doesn't sit properly, and can can cause some TP problems, like what you describe. (Amongst others.)

I will try to put some foam support around the tp under the panel and see if it can solve the rest of the problem mine is working fine now no more crazy moves and jumpy cursor and resizing issue but when i put my palm on the left or right side close to the TP ot act like I am applying some pressure on the TP it self so I think the support may solve it cuz its mostly caused by the plastic palm rest is bending somehow.
I will report back when I am done.

My favorite current Synaptic driver is 15.3.13

    http://www.station-drivers.com/tele...touchpad_15.3.13(www.station-drivers.com).exe

It has an advanced palmcheck and sensitivity adjustments. Plus it can disable tp when typing for fixed time period.

As for the foil... you can remove the silver and black backing and see if using it bareback makes a difference. Also check for contact corrosion. If any of the gold has turned dark brown, you may need a replacement.
