I'm having a very difficult time finding any info, here or goog, for a replacement to my 150w brick (g73JH/JW/SW). Even if it had the same mass but spread out across a wider form factor I would be much happier. Just too bulky for a guy that's on the road 3-4 days a week.

    Thanks in advance.

The AW M15x 150W adapter is pretty thin, but you'd need to mod the connector to make it work with the G73.

Seriously, why in the world is the Asus adapter so huge and heavy?

You need enough space for the Asus reverse engineered mouse + a lifetime food supply so that he can change the 'mid range' switching adaptor from US to UK voltage.

There is no way we are paying UK prices!

Get 2-3 Targus APA05US models, and leave one wherever you go. Then you won't need to carry one on you. :) Otherwise, I don't know of a smaller unit than the stock one.

Because ASUS would like to reduce the cost for the laptop, so they're most likely sharing the power adapter with 3 other laptop manufacturers.

But I agree though, they need to start looking into G73/G74/G53 power brick that can easily kill somebody if thrown. However before that, I'd much rather they fix the poor quality screen.

It's that big because it has to supply 150 watt and it is a gaming laptop, not a ULV thin laptop. G series laptops weren't exactly meant to be carried everywhere.

True, but compared to the PSU of the Alienware M15x (same ratings, 150W) it's really a brick.

I have seen a 120w adapter that's less than half the size.
