    1. Been reading up the owner's lounge and Asus forums here, seems like there has been some commotion on problems with GSODs, BIOS update problems, etc.
    2. Where to buy from? I'm thinking either Tigerdirect or XoticPC. Tigerdirect is technically cheaper with cashback, about 100$ cheaper. It also delivers faster i believe? XoticPC has backpack, mouse, 500gb 7200rpm x2 drives instead of the 320gb, I think possibly better help but i'd assume if I need warranty help i'd be calling Asus anyway? I can also try asking XoticPC if they could place something on ebay so I get cashback. I think with XoticPC though, i'd have to wait a couple of weeks because it's on preorder, while tigerdirect has it stocked and ready to ship I believe.

I'd definitely buy one from TigerDirect if I hadn't already purchased an X1 from Newegg a month or so ago. To me, the slight difference in harddrive capacity, backpack and mouse would be non-factors in my purchase decision.

I bet you'd be waiting more than a couple weeks for a preorder though.

Yeah, the waiting line at XoticPC is quite long indeed at the moment. I'd go with TigerDirect.

Buy from a good retailer I agree. I bought from portableone.com and I sure not regret that. They have outstanding customer service if something bad happens after the buy. They helped me speed up my RMA and many more things. Kudos to them. I also heard really good things about GenTECH and XoticPC.

I purchased the ASUS G73JH-X3 from TD after sending back the Alienware m17x I bought from Dell Outlet (beautiful notebook...kept it almost the full 21 days working with AW techs trying to get rid of the stutter problem to no avail). I am very happy with the G73JH. Following the suggestions on this forum, I removed bloatware then I loaded WOW. I am typically at 20-25 latency with 60 fps (also added Leatrix Latency fix) at ultra settings.

If it wasn't for all that sales tax in CA. the Best Buy version is a good deal so long as you get the LG screen. The G73 is by far the best Windows gaming laptop I've owned! At $1199 you won't find a more powerful system anywhere near that price and they are in stock in most of the country.

    Cheers,
