I bought another one, after how much I hated the first one, I still ended up buying the same laptop.

Unfortunately, the new one is 1600x900 which is a huge let down for me. Fortunately, the 1920x1080 from my old g73 still works and I figured that I'd just swap em around. I'd be replacing the entire monitor, frame included, not just the screen.

However, when I removed the 1920x1080, I found there were a white and black cord attached to the network adapter. I can't figure out for the life of me what the cords would do, but in my functioning G73, has an Atheros AR8131 while the one the screen was pulled from had a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200.

I want to think I'm just being paranoid, but I'm tired of having to replace these machines. I haven't opened the new one yet, so I don't know what the internals look like. To be honest, I don't want to open another one of these up ever again if I have the foresight.

Those would be the cables for the antennas. Pretty straight forward. Detach cords, replace Wi-Fi card, reattach cords and you'll be in business (if you want to replace the Wi-Fi card that is).

I don't think I can replace the network adapters, I took a look under the service panel and it looks like the network adapter is located on the complete other side of the mobo.

It also doesn't look like the vga cable isn't long enough to reach.

If both laptops are the same model, then both motherboards should have a near identical layout. Take them both apart and you should see they are near identical.

Switching out both the LCD panel and Wi-Fi adapter should be pretty straight forward. The Wi-Fi adapters will have the same socket and so should the LCD panel. The only way the LCD panels wouldn't match is if one is a 3D panel and the other is not. 3D LCD panels have a different socket with more pins if I'm not mistaken.

I think it is easier to switch the lcd screen and not the whole assembly. Why do you want to replace the frame?
