So I know that most people only post on forums when they need help with an issue but I'm getting a little nervous that I made a bad choice last week when I picked up a used G53SW. It'll be delivered on Thursday and according to the seller it's in mint condition but I can't help ignore all of the issues on these boards. I'm normally overly OCD when it comes to computer hardware (no drinks around my desktop, take it apart once a month to clean it, etc) but I'm just overly worried in the build quality of the G53SW.

Aside from the weak power jack that has been pretty widespread, you should have nothing to worry about. Just be careful when you plug it in.

Mine had red lines on the screen several months after purchase.

my usb only works like 50% of the time..
somehow using latest drivers from nvidia causes long bootup times too
i think the software support for asus is kinda bad in general, which sucks because the machine is actually really good quality -
well I should have been worried, d*mmn POS lasted 2 hours before kicking the bucket. Now it boots but the screen won't turn on.

Stay worried. I'm not very happy with Asus G Series quality. Their lower end notebook ironically are much better.
