    Just any compatible Blu-ray drive, would it be possible to swap the laser and what-not into the casing of the G73 drive so it match the finish?

    You can remove the bezel and place it on the new drive to match the design of your notebook.

    There is a video on how to remove/replace the bezel. It was mentioned and linked here in the G73 forums months ago. Sorry I don't have a direct link, but I bet a search would turn it up. It may have been in ViciousUSMC's review or benchmark thread, but it's around here somewhere. Hope that helps.

    Also, in that same discussion someone linked a cheap BD-ROM/DVD burner and I did bookmark that so here you go in case you need it...
