So where can I find a Blu-ray drive?

I know you can use any Blu-ray drive but I'd rather have the one that matches the G73. The Asus store is pretty terrible, it's sold out on pretty much everything all the time and Ebay has jack. Anyone know where I might come across one?

Unfortunately I am not able to find the "Drive Assembly" specific to the ASUS G73JH - However, I was able to find at least one of the drives a LG 6X CT21N BD-Rom Reader Slim SATA drive at SWS Electronics. This is the drive used in the G73, based on the ASUS parts store.

I do not know if the bezel or if it needs a special "assembly" but it is at least a start to find the part. SWS doesn't suggest they are out of stock.

I also found the same drive at XPCGear.com as well.

I did a " Google Search" and found a number of places that sell the drive -

Obviously if you're looking for the drive as offered by ASUS and Sold specifically for the G73, you might have to wait for the part to be available through the ASUS parts store -

In any case, I am not sure I can really get any more detailed then this, as you seem to be specifically interested in the ASUS only product, as such, I suppose this won't be of any help, but maybe someone else might find this information helpful.
