Asus Europe at it again.

I just got my G73jh back for its second RMA. The first was because the mobo died. However, when it came back the fans ran a 100% all the time. So I let it go for a few months until I began to have hdd problems. So I decided to send it in and get its problems fixed.

One month later, today, it arrives. The changed all the fans, fixed the hdd issues and changed the gpu, I have no idea why because it was working perfectly. Whatever, a new gpu.

I turn it on and guess what? Yea, the fans still run at 100%. so I took the hdd´s out and just ran the bios and the fans run 100%, so definitely not a software or win7 issue.

I ran NB_PROBE as they had me do before the RMA and it still says FATAL temp error. I ran evga´s eleet to see if I could get a better reading of what the culprit is but it says THRM 102C  . So there it is, whatever that is a reading of. Anybody have any ideas? I am trying to get this nailed down before I send it back again, so they actually fix the real problem this time.

I don´t know if it would be better to wait til I get back to the USA to RMA it there, but the horror stories I think are the same.

I think that is what I might just do. My home is Northern CA so Fremont is right there.

I had the same problem with my N50, HWmonitor reported ACPI temps of 105C. On the bright side, the laptop ran cooler than ever, the noise level was annoying as hell on the other hand. There were no errors reported in the event viewer either.

I partially disassembled the media controls (weren't working when the issue was there) and reseated the RAM. Since then no problem, i never found out what it really was, but i'd say your mobo or a connection on it might be the problem. I would ask them to change the motherboard again. I'd really like to know where is that sensor though, it would help pinpoint the problem.

I have seen some information that says that this temp error can occur with a bad cpu seating. I haven´t tried to reseat it yet, though. But I have torn the whole thing apart looking for loose connections and now that RMA has also I think in my case the only thing left is the mobo.

I just looked with AIDA and it shows the cpu at 102C and all 4 cores averaging around 33C. Maybe it is a bad cpu seating.???

If I understand whatever you are trying to say. :)

I just repasted both the cpu and gpu. No change. the problematic temp is still at 102.
