I'm playing Space Marine on my g73jh and I must say I'm having annoying problems. Texture/levels do not load pretty much everytime I get to a checkpoint, where more of the level needs to be loaded and also after dying, the game will stay on the loading screen instead of loading back to the last checkpoint.

This is a known issue, but it seems like most people are able to fix it with new drivers or disabling their AV but in my case what seems to work is to alt+tab and wait a little bit and then come back. But doing so really kills the game experience.. Anybody playing it right now having those problems?

May be a Catalyst related driver, because it runs perfectly fine on my gtx460m.
The slow texture loading is an Unreal Engine issue, but here at max it takes 2 seconds, maybe 1, then everything is fine.
Checkpoints reload and loading times are fine, around 20 secs, maybe less.
Dunno, prolly an Ati related problem. Try to run it on your GTX570 (which i have too) im sure it will run perfectly fine.

The game isn't using Unreal engine, it's using Havok. And when I say texture/ level, I really mean nothing loads. Instead of getting trhough ruins of buildings, I will just see a few floating objects in the world and can't progress further because nothing is there.

My loading times can be about 20 minutes... And it's really annoying when it's before an hard combat, because it takes forever to load, I get in, die and need to load again.

I'll try playing at home tomorrow on my desktop, but on forums people say it's nividia related... Strange because you are saying you are not having any problems while I am getting a lot.

Havok is the phyiscs engine, not the game engine mate. Afaik it uses Unreal Engine, then its up to devvers which physics engine to use.

EDIT: it uses a proprietary engine for the graphics and havok for physics. The engine is codenamed "Phoenix" and has been built for consoles, then ported to pc.

Anyway thats not the issue. If you want i can provide a few screenshots or whatever but i guess its not helpful at all.
Have you tried to download the steam demo to see if it acts in the same way?

Oh yeah sorry, it's phoenix engine and havok for physics.

I don't remember having any problems with the demo and from what I read I think issues are really with the game and not in the demo, strange..
